Cole Palmer has etched his name alongside Chelsea legend Eden Hazard by becoming the first player since the Belgian maestro to achieve 20 Premier League goal contributions in consecutive seasons for the club.
The 22-year-old opened the scoring in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw against Bournemouth with a composed finish after a brilliant solo run by Nicolas Jackson.

This season, Palmer has contributed 14 goals and six assists, trailing only Mohamed Salah, who leads the Premier League with 31 goal contributions.
Bournemouth, however, refused to back down. Justin Kluivert equalized from the penalty spot after Moises Caicedo fouled Antoine Semenyo. Semenyo then fired Bournemouth ahead with a thunderous near-post strike.
Chelsea’s resilience shone through in stoppage time as Reece James delivered a stunning free-kick to rescue a point.
Despite extending their winless Premier League run to five matches, the Blues took solace in Palmer’s form, which has sparked comparisons to Hazard’s prime years.
Palmer’s achievement echoes Hazard’s phenomenal run in his first three seasons at Chelsea (2012/13, 2013/14, and 2014/15), during which Hazard consistently surpassed 20 goal contributions.
Over his seven-year stint at Stamford Bridge, Hazard amassed 139 Premier League goal contributions, setting a benchmark for attacking excellence.
With 53 goal contributions in just a season and a half at Chelsea, Palmer is well on his way to carving out a legacy that could one day rival Hazard’s.
