Crystal Palace have secured the loan signing of Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell for the remainder of the season.
The England international, who has struggled for minutes under Enzo Maresca, arrives at Selhurst Park to bolster Palace’s defensive options following Chadi Riad’s season-ending knee injury.
Chilwell, 28, has not featured in the Premier League since April 2024 and was informed last summer that he was not part of Chelsea’s long-term plans.

His only appearance this season came as a substitute in Chelsea’s Carabao Cup victory over Barrow in September.
Despite signing a contract extension in April 2023 that ties him to Chelsea until 2027, Chilwell was made available for a permanent transfer.
However, Palace opted for a short-term deal to reinforce their squad.
“I’m very excited to be here,” Chilwell told Palace’s official website. “The club is heading in a great direction, and seeing the progress over the last few months made this an easy decision.”
Currently 12th in the Premier League with 30 points from 24 matches, Palace hope Chilwell’s arrival will provide a much-needed boost as they push for a strong finish to the season.
The full-back is expected to make his debut for the Eagles in their FA Cup fourth-round clash against Doncaster Rovers on 10 February.
