Chelsea have been dealt a blow with young striker Marc Guiu set to miss several weeks due to an injury sustained in their 2-1 win over West Ham.
Manager Enzo Maresca confirmed the setback, stating that while the full extent is yet to be determined, the injury appears to be a long-term issue.
“Marc, unfortunately, has a bad injury,” said manager Enzo Maresca. “We are still assessing the full extent, but it looks like he’ll be out for weeks, maybe a month.”
The news comes at a difficult time for Chelsea, with Nicolas Jackson also a doubt ahead of their FA Cup fourth-round clash against Brighton.
Maresca acknowledged the squad’s attacking limitations, suggesting that Christopher Nkunku could play a key role, especially after Joao Felix’s recent loan move to AC Milan.
Chelsea will now have to adapt their attacking setup as they prepare for a crucial period in both domestic and European competitions.
