The Liverpool star continues to be at the center of transfer speculation, with fresh reports from Spain suggesting he has personally expressed interest in joining Barcelona this summer.
Despite being a key figure in Arne Slot’s starting lineup, Luis Díaz has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Anfield.
The Colombian international is enjoying his best statistical season with Liverpool, scoring 13 goals in 33 appearances across all competitions. However, transfer rumors surrounding his future refuse to go away.
According to El Chiringuito, Díaz’s representatives have held discussions with Barcelona sporting director Deco, reportedly offering the player to the Catalan giants as they look to reinforce their attack ahead of the new season.

Barcelona remains in search of a left-sided forward after failing to address the position last summer, despite showing strong interest in Spain international Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao.
Barcelona’s Transfer Priorities
Spanish outlet Sport recently reported that Barcelona is keeping tabs on both Díaz and Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak.
While Isak has already informed the club of his desire to move to the Nou Camp, a transfer is seen as complicated due to Newcastle’s likely high demands for the 25-year-old forward.
Should Barcelona make a major player sale in the summer, Isak remains their No. 1 target.
However, a move for Díaz is viewed as a more feasible option due to his relatively lower transfer fee and wage demands.
Díaz, now 28, remains under contract at Liverpool until the summer of 2027, but with his market value expected to decline after 2025, the Reds may be tempted to cash in while they can still command a sizable fee.
Reports suggest Díaz would be “delighted” to move to Catalonia, further fueling speculation over his Anfield future.
Liverpool’s Concerns Over Díaz’s Form
While Díaz’s season numbers remain strong, his recent form has been a cause for concern.
Anfield Watch reported earlier this month that Slot has grown frustrated with the winger, particularly after a drop in his goal-scoring output.
After an explosive start to the season, netting five goals in five games, Díaz has managed just four goals in his last 18 appearances.
However, his goal against Wolves last weekend ended an 11-game drought, potentially signaling a return to form. Whether that will be enough to convince Liverpool to retain him beyond this summer remains to be seen.
With Barcelona in need of attacking reinforcements and Díaz reportedly open to a move, this transfer saga is far from over.
