Ben Chilwell, who faced uncertainty during the summer regarding his future at Chelsea, is now committed to staying at the club and reclaiming his position in the starting lineup.
Ben Jacobs, speaking about Chilwell, in an exclusive report to GIVEMESPORT said:
Behind the scenes, he’s got five days a week to learn the system and adapt his game. And I think Chilwell will actually be thinking more about Chelsea than an exit at this point, and more about the next few months before the window opens.
Keeping himself under the radar, working hard at Cobham to try and show that he can play in the system and to see whether he can change the manager’s mind – because that would be his preference, to stay where he is and play regularly.
Despite being sidelined by Enzo Maresca and missing the beginning of the Premier League season, the left-back remains determined to prove his worth.
Last season, Chilwell was a crucial part of Chelsea’s setup, even captaining the side on several occasions. Although injuries limited his appearances to 13 Premier League games, his leadership on the field was evident.
Having recently made a substitute appearance in the League Cup match against Barrow, Chilwell is showing his willingness to seize any opportunity to impress the new manager.
With Chelsea competing on multiple fronts, Chilwell’s experience and skill set could be valuable assets as the season progresses.
His resilience and desire to fight for his spot are likely to endear him to fans and teammates alike as he aims to reestablish himself in the squad.
