Chelsea’s rising star, Cole Palmer, has been awarded the Premier League Player of the Month for September 2024, capping off a stellar month for the 22-year-old.

This achievement highlights his rapid adaptation to the Chelsea squad and the English top flight, where his impressive performances throughout the month played a crucial role in the team’s success.

Palmer scored five goals and provided one assist in September, which saw Chelsea go unbeaten with three wins and a draw.

Notable among these was a thrilling 4-2 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion, where Palmer scored all four goals, making him the first player to achieve a hat-trick before halftime in a Premier League match.

His clinical finishing, which included a precise penalty and a remarkable free-kick, demonstrated his scoring versatility and his calmness under pressure.

The young English forward also contributed to Chelsea’s victories against West Ham and Bournemouth, with his contributions helping the team climb to fourth place in the Premier League standings by the end of September.

He began the month by setting up Nicolas Jackson’s goal in a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, showcasing his playmaking abilities alongside his goal-scoring prowess.

Palmer’s recognition comes in a month where Chelsea’s manager, Enzo Maresca, was also awarded the Premier League Manager of the Month. Maresca’s tactical approach has allowed players like Palmer to shine, making it a memorable month for the club.

This award marks Palmer’s second Player of the Month title with Chelsea, following his first win last April.

Additionally, he secured the Premier League Goal of the Month for his memorable lob against Wolverhampton Wanderers in August.

In addition to his league exploits, Palmer’s international achievements were recognized with the England Men’s Player of the Year award. This honor reflects his consistent performance with the national team, where he has displayed maturity and skill well beyond his years.

Palmer’s September performances have solidified his status as a key player for Chelsea, as he continues to develop under Maresca’s guidance. Chelsea fans will be looking forward to more impressive displays from him as the season progresses.
