Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink recently shared his views on the club’s young star, Cole Palmer, who has been impressive since joining the Blues.
Palmer has been terrific this season for Chelsea scoring six goals and five assists, including his four-goal haul against Brighton, in seven Premier League games.
While Hasselbaink praised Palmer for his skill, creativity, and calmness on the ball, he also highlighted one specific area Palmer could improve—his aerial ability.

“He plays on feeling and it’s working. He’s an exceptional player. He’s an exceptional talent. He doesn’t need a lot of maintenance and he just wants to play football.”
“He reminds me of a street footballer from back in the day, I was afraid that they were going out of the game but he has brought that back. The only weakness you can say he has is heading the ball, but he can pass, score, assist and take free-kicks. He is exceptional.”
Palmer, a product of Manchester City’s academy, has quickly integrated into Chelsea’s squad, contributing significantly to the team’s attacking play.
Hasselbaink’s comments indicate high expectations for Palmer, who has shown maturity beyond his years, but the former striker suggests there’s still room for development to make him a complete player.
