Arsenal have reportedly taken the lead in the race to sign Victor Osimhen, hijacking Manchester United’s pursuit of the Nigerian striker ahead of the summer transfer window.
Manchester United had emerged as frontrunners for Osimhen’s signature in recent weeks, with Fabrizio Romano even suggesting that the player was warming up to a move to Old Trafford.

However, Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu now claims that Arsenal has overtaken United in the race.
Mikel Arteta’s side is actively searching for a world-class striker, and Osimhen fits the profile.
The Gunners also have the financial advantage, as they are reportedly in a stronger position to meet Osimhen’s salary demands.
Osimhen’s Situation at Napoli
Osimhen, currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, is set to leave the Italian club permanently in the summer.
His loan deal, which runs until June 2025, was a dry loan, with Galatasaray covering his wages at a cost of €10 million.
The 26-year-old has a €75 million release clause in his Napoli contract, making him one of the most sought-after forwards in the transfer market.
Chelsea and PSG are also monitoring his situation, but Arsenal and United remain the most serious contenders.
Osimhen’s Impressive Season
The Nigerian international has had a stellar season at Galatasaray, scoring 20 goals in 26 games across all competitions.
However, his time at Napoli ended on a sour note after a falling-out with the club, which included a controversial social media incident last year.
With both Arsenal and Man Utd keen on securing his services, the coming months could see a fierce transfer battle for Osimhen’s signature.
