Chelsea and Manchester United are preparing for a potential summer transfer battle over Borussia Dortmund’s highly-rated goalkeeper, Gregor Kobel.

The Swiss international has long been on United’s radar, while Chelsea have recently intensified their interest amid concerns over Robert Sanchez’s form.

Despite Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca publicly backing Sancgez, the club is exploring alternatives, with Kobel emerging as a strong candidate.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are also monitoring the situation, as Andre Onana has shown inconsistency despite improving over the season.

Dortmund, however, are unwilling to entertain offers for the 27-year-old at this stage, especially with their Champions League campaign in full swing.

Having secured a crucial 3-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk, the German club remains focused on the competition and will only reassess Kobel’s future in the summer.

If Dortmund soften their stance, Chelsea could have a clearer path to signing Kobel, especially with United prioritizing reinforcements in other areas under new manager Ruben Amorim.

The Blues have already secured young Belgian goalkeeper Mike Penders from Genk, but Kobel’s arrival would provide further depth and competition.

As the summer transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on whether Dortmund’s resistance holds firm—or if Chelsea and United’s growing interest forces a major goalkeeping shake-up in the Premier League.
