Chelsea have no plans to sell Cole Palmer this summer despite recent speculation about a potential release clause linked to Champions League qualification.

The Blues currently sit sixth in the Premier League, just a point behind fourth-placed Manchester City.

With England likely to gain an extra Champions League spot due to strong performances in Europe, Chelsea’s hopes of securing a place in the competition remain alive.

However, Enzo Maresca’s side has won just two of their last nine league games, raising concerns about their top-five finish.

Earlier reports suggested Palmer’s contract included a clause requiring Chelsea to consider offers if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

However, MailOnline has dismissed those claims, stating that no such clause exists in the nine-year deal Palmer signed last summer.

Chelsea Determined to Keep Palmer

Despite their inconsistent form, Chelsea have no intention of offloading Palmer in the upcoming transfer window.

The 21-year-old has been a standout performer for the Blues this season, playing a crucial role in Maresca’s system.

Following Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat to Brighton, football pundit Jamie Carragher questioned how long Palmer would be willing to stay at Stamford Bridge without Champions League football.

“He won’t wait around for this idea that in a couple of years, Chelsea will make the Champions League,” Carragher said. “Cole Palmer is one of the best players in the Premier League. He’s good enough to compete for the biggest honours in England and Europe.”

Carragher also highlighted Palmer’s growing frustration on the pitch, emphasizing that top talents like him will not wait indefinitely for Chelsea’s long-term project to materialize.

What’s Next for Chelsea?

With significant investment exceeding £1 billion in the past few transfer windows, Chelsea faces mounting pressure to return to Europe’s elite competition.

While their immediate priority remains securing a Champions League spot, keeping key players like Palmer will be crucial to their long-term ambitions.
