Chelsea secured an impressive 2-1 victory over Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge, with Cole Palmer delivering his seventh goal of the season and Nicolas Jackson continuing his strong run of form.
Jackson opened the scoring in the 18th minute, finishing off a quick play set up by Palmer’s sharp pass to Pedro Neto, who squared the ball to Jackson for a simple tap-in.
However, Newcastle responded through Alexander Isak in the 32nd minute, as he capitalized on a cross from Lewis Hall to level the match.
Palmer struck again early in the second half with a clean finish from the edge of the box, putting Chelsea back in front. Despite a late push from Newcastle, including a close call where Isak rounded Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez but was thwarted by defenders, the Blues held firm.

Chelsea thought they had won a penalty when Christopher Nkunku went down in the box late in the game, but VAR overturned the decision, ruling that Nkunku had slipped.
With this win, Chelsea moved into fourth place, continuing their strong start under manager Enzo Maresca.
The Blues have now scored in 13 consecutive matches across all competitions and remain particularly lethal at home, with 19 goals in their last seven games at Stamford Bridge.
I’m very pleased with the points, but especially the performance. I think it was a complete performance on the ball and off the ball. For some moments, we were unbelievable on and off. — Enzo Maresca
For Newcastle, this defeat marks their fifth league game without a win, and scoring remains a concern as they have struggled to find the net consistently in recent matches. Eddie Howe’s team will be looking to regain form and improve their league standing after a challenging run.
