Chelsea are on the verge of completing two major outgoing transfers within the next 48 hours, as Cesare Casadei and Renato Veiga prepare to leave Stamford Bridge.
Casadei Joins Lazio
Midfielder Cesare Casadei is set to join Lazio in a €12 million deal, with Chelsea securing a 25% resale clause.
The 22-year-old had been in discussions with both Lazio and Torino, but ultimately chose Maurizio Sarri’s side, who currently sit fourth in Serie A and lead their Europa League group.
Casadei’s agent, Francesco Faccinetti, confirmed the move by sharing a photo of his arrival in Rome on social media.
Despite showing promise during loan spells at Reading and Leicester, Casadei struggled to break into Chelsea’s senior squad.
Over two-and-a-half years, he made just 17 first-team appearances and failed to feature in the Premier League under Enzo Maresca this season.
Veiga Moves to Juventus on Loan
Meanwhile, Renato Veiga is set to join Juventus on a dry loan until the end of the season.
The €4.5 million loan agreement does not include a purchase option, with Juventus urgently needing defensive reinforcements after long-term ACL injuries sidelined both Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal.
Veiga joined Chelsea last summer from FC Basel for €14 million, but has struggled for game time, managing just 183 minutes in the Premier League.
The temporary move to Turin is expected to provide the young defender with crucial first-team experience.
Chelsea’s Transfer Window Still Open
With just a few days left in the January transfer window, Chelsea remain active in the market.
Reports suggest the club is interested in signing Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho, though securing a deal remains uncertain.
Chelsea were last in action against Manchester City, taking the lead through Noni Madueke, but eventually suffered a 3-1 defeat.
These transfers reflect Chelsea’s strategy of offloading fringe players while ensuring young talents gain competitive experience.
While Casadei’s departure is permanent, Veiga’s loan move could prove beneficial if he returns with more top-flight experience.
