Pep Guardiola’s men showcased their attacking brilliance, with Phil Foden leading the charge with two goals and an assist.
City’s Ruthless Attack Dismantles Ipswich
From the opening whistle, City controlled the game, pressing high and dictating possession.
Erling Haaland missed an early chance, but the breakthrough came in the 27th minute when Foden converted Kevin De Bruyne’s deflected cross.
Three minutes later, Foden turned provider, setting up Mateo Kovacic for a precise strike into the bottom corner.
The visitors added a third before halftime, with De Bruyne and Foden linking up once again, the latter finishing coolly under Christian Walton.
After the break, Jeremy Doku capitalized on a defensive mistake to make it 4-0 before Haaland finally got on the scoresheet, netting his 17th Premier League goal of the campaign.
The scoring was completed by substitute James McAtee, who nodded home Kovacic’s cross for his first Premier League goal.
Foden Shines in City’s Resurgence
Foden’s performance underlined his growing influence in Guardiola’s system. The England international has rediscovered his best form, adding creativity and goals to City’s midfield.
With City chasing multiple trophies, his resurgence could be key in the title race.
Ipswich’s Tough Road Ahead
For Ipswich, the loss exposes the gap in quality between promoted sides and the Premier League elite. Despite some promising moments, they failed to trouble Ederson significantly.
Their upcoming fixtures don’t get any easier, with a trip to Anfield to face league leaders Liverpool next.
Man City Back in the Champions League Spots
With this emphatic victory, City leapfrog Newcastle into fourth place on goal difference, keeping their Champions League hopes alive.
Guardiola’s side will now turn their attention to a crucial European clash against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek.
