As the Premier League season hurtles toward its dramatic conclusion, Liverpool and Leicester City face off this Sunday at the King Power Stadium — a match that could symbolize both ends of footballing fate.

For Liverpool, it could be one step closer to title triumph. For Leicester, it may spell relegation.

A Title Within Reach for the Reds

Liverpool arrive in Leicester with momentum and motivation.

After Arsenal faltered with a draw against Brentford, Arne Slot’s men capitalized with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over West Ham, courtesy of Luis Diaz and a trademark Virgil van Dijk header.

With only two wins needed from their final six matches, Liverpool have a clear path to their second Premier League title, and that celebration could start as soon as this weekend — if results align in their favor.

Should they win and Ipswich Town stun Arsenal, the champagne could start flowing.

Even though their last away match ended in a 3-2 defeat at Fulham, Liverpool haven’t lost back-to-back away league games in two years.

In fact, they’ve scored multiple goals in 11 of their last 12 road trips.

That attacking power, combined with Leicester’s defensive woes, paints a daunting picture for the hosts.

Leicester’s Last Stand

Meanwhile, Leicester are hanging on by the thinnest of threads.

17 points adrift of safety with only 18 left on the table, even a surprise win may not be enough to delay the inevitable — especially if West Ham and Wolves both win.

Still, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side showed a glimmer of fight last weekend with a 2-2 draw against Brighton, snapping an eight-game goal drought.

That momentum could help them avoid an unfortunate piece of history — becoming the first Premier League team to go nine consecutive home games without scoring.

It’s a longshot, but if Leicester can harness that sudden attacking spark, they may at least go down swinging.

Team News: Salah Chases History, Vardy Keeps the Flame

Liverpool could welcome back Trent Alexander-Arnold from an ankle injury and Darwin Núñez after illness, bolstering a near-full-strength squad. Only Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton remain sidelined.

Mohamed Salah, meanwhile, continues to etch his name into the history books.

Already holding the record for most goal contributions in a 38-game season, he’s just three away from setting a new all-time high.

He also stands a chance of becoming the first player to score in six separate matches against promoted teams in a single Premier League campaign.

For Leicester, Wout Faes and teenage prodigy Jeremy Monga return to the fold, alongside Victor Kristiansen and Facundo Buonanotte, who was ineligible against his parent club last week.

However, Harry Winks and Abdul Fatawu are ruled out. Veteran striker Jamie Vardy is set to lead the line once again at age 38.
