Mohamed Salah made Premier League history as he starred in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw against Everton on Wednesday night at Goodison Park.

The Egyptian forward set up Alexis Mac Allister’s equalizer, which saw him break a record that had stood for over 30 years.

Salah’s assist was his ninth away from home in 13 Premier League matches this season, bringing his total away goal contributions to 22 (12 goals, 9 assists). This surpassed Andy Cole’s 1993/94 record for most goal contributions in away matches.

Everton had taken an early lead through Beto, but Salah’s involvement ensured Liverpool responded swiftly.

In the 73rd minute, he found the net himself, capitalizing on a loose ball after Curtis Jones’ shot was blocked. The goal marked his 22nd in the league this season, adding to his 14 assists.

However, Everton refused to back down, and in the final moments, James Tarkowski’s header secured a dramatic equalizer for the hosts, ensuring the points were shared.

Across all competitions, Salah now boasts 27 goals and 19 assists in just 34 appearances.

His current tally of league goal contributions is already his highest since the 2021/22 season, and with three months remaining, he could achieve his most productive campaign in seven years.

Despite his outstanding performances, Salah’s future at Liverpool remains uncertain. His contract expires at the end of the season, and no extension has been agreed upon yet.

Liverpool, currently leading the Premier League title race, will hope their star forward continues to deliver as they push for silverware in multiple competitions.
