Mohamed Salah has dropped his clearest hint yet about staying at Liverpool after leading the Reds to a 2-1 victory over Lille in the Champions League.
The Egyptian forward opened the scoring in the first half, netting his 50th European goal for Liverpool.
With his contract set to expire this summer, speculation has been rife about his future. However, when asked if he could score another 50 goals in Europe for the club, Salah told Amazon Prime:
I’m not sure about that, but I’ll give it my best.
This statement has fueled optimism among fans that Salah may extend his stay at Anfield.
Having joined Liverpool in 2017, he has cemented himself as one of the club’s greatest-ever players.
Crucial Goal in Lille Victory
Liverpool took the lead in the 34th minute through Salah, who finished off Curtis Jones’ superb through ball. Lille, despite going down to 10 men after Aissa Mandi’s red card, fought back with Jonathan David’s equalizer.
