Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes have taken a significant hit, with their attacking struggles becoming a growing concern.
A frustrating goaless draw against Nottingham Forest as left them trailing league leaders Liverpool by 13 points, highlighting their urgent need for a prolific goal scorer.
Despite dominating possession and creating chances, the Gunners have managed just three shots on target in their last two league games, failing to score in back-to-back matches for the first time since May 2023.
With key forwards Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Kai Havertz sidelined by injuries, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta acknowledged the team’s lack of cutting edge.
“We dominated the game, tried different approaches, but lacked that spark and final pass,” Arteta said. “We need to create more shots on target.”
Former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman echoed these concerns, stressing the need for a top-class striker. “We’ve always needed a striker,” Seaman told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“Hopefully, one is lined up for the summer, but it might be too late for this season. That final piece of the jigsaw could make all the difference next season.”
However, Arsenal faces stiff competition in the transfer market, with clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Aston Villa also looking to strengthen their attacking options.
